EV Infrastructure

EV charging infrastructure nomenclature and fundamental hardware and software components. EV charging infrastructure, often referred to as electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), is a core component of a healthy EV ecosystem and requires adequate planning and dedicated electrical infrastructure at various levels of the distribution grid. This includes behind-the-meter customer-owned infrastructure.
An electric vehicle charging network is an infrastructure system of charging stations to recharge electric vehicles. Many government, car manufacturers, and charging infrastructure providers sought to create networks.

Compact Substations

Compact Substation or Package Substation is a combined unit that consist of HT Switchgear (RMU or VCB) , Transformer , LV Switchgear Panel consisting of MCCB or ACB along with all Interconnections i.e. , HT Cable , LT Busduct , Earthing Arrangements.

HT Panels

HT panel is a metal enclosure fitted with HT Circuit Breakers, relays &metering that is used to receive 11KV/33KV supply (from one or more source) & distribute the power through its outgoing feeders. Outgoing feeder may be one or more it depends on the load of the building HT panel receives electrical Supply 11KV or 33KV) from H – poleby 3 core HT cable & then it distributes power through one or more outgoing feeders. These outgoing feeders are connected with distribution transformers which convert HT supply into 415V, 3-phase 4 wire AC supply. To measure electrical power consumption, Energy Meter is installed in it, Meters are installed to measure electrical Voltage, Current, frequency, power factor etc.

Ring Main Unit

Ring Main Unit (RMU) is a factory assembled, metal enclosed set of switchgear used at the load connection points of a ring-type distribution network. It is complete SF6 gas enclosed and has either LBS or VCB that acts as a circuit breaker. It Is very compact in size as compared to conventional AIS Switchgears. LT Panels (Low Voltage Panel)

PCC Panel:- Power Control Centre is used for distribution and control of various power source used in an organization.

MCC Panel:- Motor Control Centre is various individual motor starters all powered from similar mains .

APFC Panel:- Automatic Power Factor Control or APFC Panels are mainly used for the improvement of Power Factor.

Distribution Boards:- A distribution board is a panel that divides an electrical power feed into subsidiary circuits, while providing a protective fuse or circuit breaker for each circuit in a common enclosure.

Rising Main:- Rising Mains are a central bus bar system that enters the property - generally high rise flats and commercial buildings or hospitals etc - on the base floor and goes up to the floors to serve electricity to the areas that need power

Feeder Pillars

A feeder pillar (also known as a power box, distribution pillar, or feeder pillar box) is a cabinet used to house electrical equipment. Feeder pillars act as a central circuit that controls and distributes electricity to outgoing circuits downstream to the feeder pillar. This setup provides each circuit protection, along with the capacity to be easily controlled.
Similar to a junction box, a feeder pillar box protects people from coming into contact with live wires, as well as protecting wires from dust and dampness.
Electrical feeder pillars are mounted on the street and are used to control the electrical supply to houses in a neighborhood. A feeder pillar is another word for a cutout enclosure or other electrical enclosure that is used as part of an underground electrical distribution system.
